Deloitte21 is our global ambition to drive innovations in education and skills for underserved young people that will help them succeed in the 21st-century economy. Deloitte is committed to developing underserved students’ skills so they can become entrepreneurs, innovate, lead, be creative, think critically, and make good decisions – the skills needed to address the global challenges of today and the future.

2010 marks the start of the Deloitte21 Fellows program. 16 professionals from across the organization will collectively dedicate more than 4,500 hours over the next year in individual placements to support programs that provide underserved young people with an opportunity to develop 21st century skills.

FIFA World Cup represents economic turning point for South Africa

With the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the international community is not only watching the action on the pitch; they are also witnessing a South Africa that continues to emerge as a competitive 21st century economy. As outlined in Deloitte’s “2010 FIFA World Cup. A turning point for South Africa,” South Africa is reaping the rewards of hosting the Cup, including infrastructure improvements, an economic boost, and an increase of national pride.

Deloitte announced the results of Kennedy Consulting Research & Advisory’s recent Energy Consulting Marketplace 2009-2012 report. Deloitte ranks as the second largest organization for energy consulting by measure of aggregate global revenue and has one of the largest and strongest upstream practices.

Deloitte recognized for support of UN’s Women’s Empowerment Principles

Deloitte was recognized at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit (24-25 June) for its support of the Women's Empowerment Principles, launched by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the United Nations Global Compact.

These principles offer companies guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace, and community. They emphasize the business case for promoting gender equality and women's empowerment, providing a “gender lens” through which business can survey and analyze current initiatives, benchmarks, and reporting practices.
